An avid adventurer at heart, Elliott is moonlighting as a post-doctoral researcher specialising in skin engineering. When he’s not hiking, freediving, or climbing, his passion lies in driving practical and commercial output from scientific innovation.
Through this passion for research commercialisation, he gravitated to New Zealand biotech companies such as BLIS Technologies and, more recently, Upside Biotechnologies, where he has been instrumental in developing a bioengineered skin product for burns victims. Here, he became determined to help drive innovative research in New Zealand toward products with significant market value. Through his experience in academia, industry, and research commercialisation he has found himself as one of the newer members on the Return on Science Biotech and Life Sciences Investment committee.
