Mike is a PhD pharmacologist, who worked in the pharmaceutical industry for 20 years before turning to consultancy in the biopharmaceutical R&D sector.  With experience of both small and large Pharma research programs, he held several senior roles in the industry, including Project Manager and Department Director at Vernalis in the UK, and Director of Research at Neuren Pharmaceuticals in Auckland, position he held for 8 years.  An independent consultant for the last 5 years, Mike has helped UniServices successfully out-license or spin-out several university research projects.  In addition to other ongoing consultancy roles, Mike is currently CSO of Kea Therapeutics.
