Andrew is a PhD Candidate in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at the University of Auckland, investigating the use of embedded vision in surveillance applications. He also completed his undergraduate studies at Auckland, with degrees in Engineering and Commerce, and a Postgraduate Certificate in Commercialisation and Entrepreneurship. He has been involved in the teaching side of the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department for five years, and has been involved in two small start-up businesses. His research interests include embedded systems, computer vision, machine learning, and robotics. Broader interests include civics education, engineering education, politcs and policy analysis, data visualisation, and entrepreneurship.
